Eating Disorder Coaching

If you are someone who has been diagnosed with (or you suspect you have) anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, orthorexia, a binge eating disorder then I am here for you.

I specialise in working with clients who want to heal, who are ready to start exploring and challenging the beliefs and rules around food and nutrition that are driving their eating disorder.

As a nutritional therapist I ensure that you are at the centre of my practice. It is important to know that nutritional therapy does not need to be full of rules and restriction and, through the application of nutrition science and intuitive eating principles, my aim is to help you in your individual journey to finding overall wellness, happiness and food freedom.

Eating disorders are not a ‘choice’! They are a severe mental health condition which need proper care and attention.

Nutritional Therapy

Nutrition is of growing interest in today’s society meaning that it is becoming a minefield to know what to do and what not to do. Every week a new super-diet is mentioned, a new celebrity weight loss or weight gain is spoken about, the diet industry put out more conflicting messages and the media mess up more people’s relationships with food.

Many clients present with concerns about their physical health such as digestive complaints, skin problems or hormonal issues. When working together it becomes clear that diets full of restriction and lifestyles full of stress are driving and maintaining factors for these symptoms. Working on healing your relationship with food whilst addressing and supporting the body as a whole is an important part of my practice.

Take a leap of faith start making steps to heal your relationship with your mind, body and food!

Help for Parents / Carers

Having a child or loved one with an eating disorder can feel overwhelming and extremely scary. It is difficult to know what to say or do to help.

I have found that one of the best ways to support a child or loved one with an eating disorder who is receiving therapy is to explore and work on your own relationship with food.

Over six weeks our sessions will examine your own personal food script, your approach to shopping, cooking, your attitude towards certain foods and the language used on a day to day basis.

These sessions are designed to give you an insight into how I work as a practitioner with your child or loved one so that you are able to feel more involved with their recovery journey rather than feeling as though you are just observing from the sideline, feeling a little helpless and lost.
